About this dispensary

A rotating “Speakeasy” theme, sneaker boutique and gallery-style art space give Primus a profile beyond its sales floor. West Georgia Pulse reported that local artist David Jackson installed work throughout the store, including a mural linking Springfield’s Basketball Hall of Fame and Holyoke’s Volleyball Hall of Fame through shared city symbolism. Art and fashion are presented as parts of the store’s concept, not incidental decor.

What stands out

West Georgia Pulse identifies Lamont Clemons as Primus’s founder and CEO and describes him as a Springfield native, U.S. Army veteran, and former executive leader on several major city development projects. In the publication’s account, the store was conceived as an immersive, changing space shaped by art and community needs rather than retail alone. The same report says Primus committed to supporting the Springfield Boys and Girls Club, YMCA, Springfield Partners for Community Action, and the Association of Black Businesses and Professionals. That origin gives the rotating design a clearer purpose: the sneaker boutique, gallery presentation and locally made art express Clemons’s stated aim to connect the business with Springfield’s community life.
