In November 2018, the Massachusetts Cannabis Control Commission announced that New England Treatment Access could begin recreational sales in Northampton, according to the Boston Herald. The two-track model continued into a 2025 city agreement, which describes the Conz Street location as a co-located medical and adult-use retail marijuana establishment. The retailer’s site presents separate medical and recreational ordering paths.
The store’s defining chapter was its transition from a medical dispensary to recreational sales. The Boston Herald reported on November 18, 2018, that state regulators had authorized New England Treatment Access in Northampton to begin sales on Tuesday, November 20, 2018. The paper also reported that the company planned to open at 8 a.m., expected large crowds, and said it would prioritize medical patients. That commitment helps frame the store’s later history: Northampton’s 2025 host-community agreement describes the Conz Street operation as co-located for medical and adult-use retail. Rather than a simple category switch, the record shows both service tracks continuing at one address.
