The building at 482 Globe Street once housed the Ukrainian Restaurant, known as The Uke. Fall River Reporter documented Nature’s Medicines opening there in December 2018 as a medical marijuana dispensary. The New Bedford Standard-Times later noted that the business had previously used the name Xiphias Wellness—a second chapter in the address’s unusually layered commercial history.
Fall River Reporter framed the opening as a reuse story: a building associated with a former local restaurant now housed an entirely different product. The paper reported that Nature’s Medicines began serving Massachusetts medical-marijuana patients there in December 2018.
