Cannabis & Tech Today placed that setup within a larger industry problem: indoor cultivation’s heavy electricity demand. It reported that Solar used a combination of solar and CHP and continually weighed the costs because the facility could not turn off its power. The same 2022 article said Solar then operated two dispensaries, in Somerset and Seekonk, and planned another in Dartmouth that summer; that was a plan at publication, not confirmation that it opened. For shoppers, the reporting gives the Solar name a measurable dimension: the Somerset operation was managing cultivation, production, retail and ongoing energy tradeoffs at the site.
