Curaleaf – Provincetown

A later chapter moved to court. In May 2025, The Provincetown Independent reported that Curaleaf was seeking $372,260 from Provincetown for community-impact fees paid from 2020 through 2022. The paper said Curaleaf alleged the fees were collected without showing how they related to local impacts. Provincetown denied that allegation and argued in court filings that Curaleaf had not submitted annual sales and financial records required by the host-community agreement. The Independent traced the original agreement to 2018 and noted that Curaleaf’s November 2024 complaint relied on a July 2022 state-law change. The reporting presents competing claims rather than a court finding.
